Belle, the Granny Setter could lay on a dock with the best of them, but was never happier than when she was laying on the
deck of my boat watching the fish in the live well. The only time that she wasnt happy is if those fish happened to be salmon. Seems that the Granny stuck her nose close to an about 30 pounder and got a tail smack on her nose, and a 30 pound salmon has a BIG tail. Granny prefered the perch, liked to eat them too. I miss the elderly lady. I miss them all.

Doc, I know how it feels to miss your "fur-kids" and family members. You can't keep them forever, but memories like the one you just described, help to give you a happy memory. Just think of how much you gave to Granny Setter after the hell she went through, and how much she enjoyed her life with you. She felt loved and like she belonged somewhere.

They were All loved, they All belonged here. Other than The first Red, Erin, Shawn and R. J. they were all rescues. Kelly was given to me by an alcoholic B-52 pilot on his way to a graveyard tour on the ground in Greenland, Liberty was offered "free to a good home" in the paper, reason "we got new furnature" We were given a bag of the cheapest food available, and to Liberty it was like "Dont let the door hit you in the @ss on the way out" I waited till Brian had Lib in the vehicle then dumped the so called food on their front lawn. Red (2) was the only one that I sprung on Sharon, called by the local A.C.O. a couple were at the pound th surrender a good looking young guy because they had lost their home and couldnt take him to an apartment. Took him to where Sharon was working, took her outside, her only comment was "He is beautiful, was wondering how long it would take you" Yep, that was Sharon, "No More Setters" Sharon found Shannon and Granny on Pet Finder for us.
Cooper was also found on Pet Finder at our local death camp that some call a shelter. Sharon said"Oh if you want him, go get him" Yes, they All belong here, and All are Loved.

More proof that things happen cause they're supposed to, you were meant to be the parent of all those setters and give them what they needed.
