Patty arrived at work this morning and already had someone waiting there for her. A nice passerby noticed this poor kitty laying in the road, obviously injurred but not dead. We are unsure if she was hit or rolled by a car or if she was thrown from one.

The kitty was monitored through the day with no life threatening injuries. She was treated for shock and doing better by the afternoon. However, she won't stand up. Towards the end of the work day we xrayed her pelvis, suspecting a fractured pelvis by the way she was acting. A fractured pelvis will heal with time and cage rest. However, once the xray was taken we discovered she also suffered a fractured spine. We are hopeful that the spine injury will also heal in the same way and she will be able to have a normal life.

We will have a better idea of how she is going to progress in a couple days. Your thoughts and prayers for this sweet girl would be dearly appreciated.

She's got my prayers. At least someone found her and brought her in and she is can be kept comfortable. Even if her spine doesn't heal, she is safe instead of suffering or splattered on the road. Bless that lady for getting involved.

Christa and I (co-fosters) have decided on naming her Lila.

Saturday Lila began eating. She still won't try to walk but moves around in her cage alright. Her left side appears to be where her weakness is. She will be on cage rest at the vet clinic for the next 6 weeks to allow her bones to fuse.

She is such a SWEET cat though! She has to be in some terrible pain but as soon as you begin petting her she purrs and loves to sit in our laps. She even kneads with her front paws. She's a total sweetie and will be very spoiled by the time we place her in a new home.

Great to hear some positive news. I know she isn't out of the woods yet, but at least there is hope. Hearing that she is purring is great. She is recieving "lovies" and that makes her happy. Keep up the good work ladies., and keep us updated when you can.

Hey, how is the other cat doing? The grey and white one who was emaciated when she was brought in.
