Bella was found running along a country road with a male Irish Setter of about the same age. They could have been siblings or maybe someone had gotten a pair for the purposes of breeding, it's impossible to know. They were taken to a county animal shelter, but no one came to claim them. They both lived up to the Irish charachter of being loveable, and energetic. Bella went to her new forever home on Sunday, with her new parents Allen and Carol from Indiana. She will also have several fur-siblings; Abbey a two yr old F English Setter, Holly a five yr old Airdale, Rylie, an eleven yr old Border Collie, and Tiger an eleven yr old cat. It was love at first sight for Abbey and Bella. Luckily they are about the same age so they can keep each other exersized. We are looking forward to many updates from Carol and Allen. Pictures to follow

Reposted for Doc because he posted in private section of form
Having been owned by Irish Setters for years I can tell you that Allan & Carol are probably too busy to post an update.
An Irish Setter requires/demands all or most of your attention. They have inovative ways of getting it too, such as the young guy that chewed the butt end of a 100+ year old split bamboo fly rod that I had, that was R.J. or the night that my wife started screaming from the bedroom, seems that another young guy had eaten the mattress from under the bed was very carefull to keep all of the debris from the mattress under there. when she sat on the bed she ended up folded up double in a hole and was screaming for help to get out. Then we sat down and had a long laugh about it and the very guilty looking Shawn hiding under the kitchen table giving us his I AM SOOOOOOO DEAD look. Looking back on several different things,
I can honestly say that I would give anything to had a camera and gotten pictures of things. Seriously, an update would be very welcome so if you have time from your Setter, please update us on Bella.

Congratulations to Allen and Carol for becoming owned by an Irish Setter!!! I had to laugh when I read the note from Doc.....and look back at some of our Irish moments here with our setters......they all have to pull a few things to keep you laughing and on your toes. We did find with our Molly (adopted at 15 months in September) that her vices seem to be shredding paper.....and digging last fall to try to catch bugs in the yard.....and stealing and hiding my potholders which is her big delight now. She loves to hide things in the house ....treats, toys and my potholder.(don't tell her I gave up on ever using that potholder and it really is hers now).....if she thinks you saw her hide it after she covers it up she will imediately move it ....can go on for a good half hour til she finds the perfect spot for things.....we think she is afraid we will eat her treat or chew on her toys!!
I was thrilled to see Bella has her forever family.....had been wondering about Bella and Edward and checking up on them online. Truth is if I tried to talk my better half into another one as both Edward and Bella are beautiful Irish Setters ....and I just can not resist an Irish. I bet she settles in nicely with all the other furbabies to play with . I am wishing you both all the joy and love we have found from our Miss Molly!! Will look forward to reading updates on Bella.

Dear All,
Puppy pictures from today.
Bella has already fit in really well, gets along fabulously with Annie, Holly, Riley… and their overweight cousin – the cat.
Has high energy level, smiley eyes, waggy tail, woggley skin, and has made no attempt to jump fence (tried to climb the tree after a squirrel).
Dawn,
Thanks for the opportunity to adopt her !!!
Tracy,
Thanks for taking such great care of her. Also – what shampoo did you use on Bella, as she smells great, and her coat glows – like to use same on all our pups.
Two more picture send as file is fairly large.
Yours appreciatively,
Allan and Carol
Still learning to post pictures. there are some great ones to go with this message, but couldn't get them up. So sending to Sherri and she will post them. Be forewarned!! The first picture of Bella, the closeup of her face, will take your breath away.

Hey Sherri, you forgot one picture that Allen sent, the close up of Bella's face. You have to post that one especially, it is breathtaking. It was in the very first of the four emails he sent.

Ok Sherri, It didn't work again, so it's up to you. Could you put up the picture of Bella? It's the closeup of her face. It was in the first email I forwarded you from Allen Mckeller, dated Feb 24th, and the subject line read "Bella and Buddies". Thanks
She is BEAUTIFUL ! (of course All Irish are)
I noticed in one picture she is getting ready to use the springs that every Irish Setter is born with.
LOLOLOL
Reminds me of Kelly, Erin and Shannon as they all liked to use their springs. Granny had springs but at her age, she didnt use them very much.
