I adopted two special needs guinea pigs today.

Forrest (Gimp) was dropped by a child and returned to the pet store with a head tilt. After medications the head tilt did not resolve. It will be permanent. He is such a sweet little piggy though! He loves attention and being pet. And loves getting treats too. But because of his head tilt he does not have good balance and does not like to be held.

Brillo has been seen 2 times for drainage in his eye. The third visit was diagnosed with dry eye. He will need meds applied to his eye 3 to 4 times daily. Brillo is also a sweet piggy. What I fell in love with Brillo for was his odd hair coat. He's very rough, like a brillo-pad.

You go girl!! Saving lives right and left. These two are cuties too. How is the one with the neck abcess doing?

Gordon's abcess is completely healed up now. He may soon get to live with one of the girls. Or if I get the huge cage from my mom's house he'll be in with all 3 girls. Don't worry, he was neutered already. I rescue pregnant piggies, not create more on my own.

Forrest is the sweetest piggy. He loves being pet. Purrs every morning when I give him a little attention before work. Brillo's eye is crusted over every morning but after getting his tears put in regularly through the day it looks fine before I go to bed. I'm a little confused on that because I sleep for 6-8 hours every night and his eye gets crusted over. Yet when I am gone at work he goes 9 hours without getting any drops in his eye and it has just a little crustiness. But the weekends when I am home more his eye looks wonderful. You wouldn't even know which eye has the problem.
