Chance went to his new forever home today, with his new mom Wendy and her daughter. He will also have a "fur-sister" named Genee, and also two cats. He will be a very happy boy cause he likes other dogs and cats. He is a very gentle and loving boy. Wendy will now have a new shadow following her everywhere.

Thanks again Wendy for taking him into your heart and home. Keep us updated on him, we never get tired of hearing about our "fur-kids".

Chance is doing really well! He still hasn't gotten used to children and that worries me. We are in obedience class at PetSmart on Saturdays and a 6 year old boy is in the class with his father. Chance hasn't gotten upset around him and after a lengthy discussion with his father, Keegan will continue to come to the dog class so Chance has a consistant exposure to a child while in a relatively safe environment.
He thinks he is a lap dog and tries to curl up on my lap while Im on my couch. He also chases my cats but the younger, smaller female cat seems to tolerate Chance better than the older, bigger male cat.
I do allow my animals to sleep with me and Chance likes to lay his head on my legs. I may have to get him his own pillow since my legs are falling asleep while Im sleeping.
Oh, and he has no accidents in the house or his crate. He puts his paw on my leg to let me know he needs to go outside. I did have to switch his food after a week on the same food he was on at his foster mom's. He had constant diarrhea and it turns out he has a food sensitivity to chicken, so now he is on a beef dog food and after a couple of days the diarrhea cleared on its own.
He went to the Bark Park for the first time on 11/12/09 and loved it. Truly, a good dog is a tired dog.

Tickled pink to hear from you Wendy!! Thank you again for giving him such a loving home, he deserved it. You have quite a special boy there. An update is the thing that gives us closure on all the placements we do. Keep them coming.

On 12-26 Chance graduated from Beginner obedience class at PetSmart. He is still doing well when with me and a few family members but men and children are still his source of aggression. He is fine with my boyfriend but will stand firm and bark at men and has charged a 2 year old. IM NOT GIVING UP! Something happen to him in his past that has caused him to be aggressive but with further training and socialization Im hoping to break this behavior. Surprisingly, there was a 7 year old boy with his dad and dog and Chance never growled at him. I have posted his picture from graduation.Click to view attachment

I agree that he is a special dog and you are very special to not give up on him. Keep on working at it, and he will come around.
