UPDATE: Finn has entered the Canine Correction Training Program in Coldwater, MI. Prison dog trainers will work with Finn for 8 weeks. He will emerge from prison in early Sept. completely housebroken and obedience trained. Appropriately, Finn is short for Finegan Beginagain....he is a 2-3 year old mixed breed dog found abandoned in a farming neighborhood. He is very low key and good tempered. Just wants a spot to call home for good. Finn is a medium sized dog of about thirty lbs. with a beautiful red coat. He gets along well with other dogs, cats and loves kids. He is quiet and likes nothing better than to sit under your chair or table. He comes when called and knows how to sit. Finn will be a great all round family pup. His only little wart is that he will flip onto his back when grabbed by the collar, probably due to being hurt in his former life (we are working on changing this behavior). His foster mom, just snaps a lead onto his collar and he comes along just fine that way. A good dog. Give him a place in your heart and home.

Update on Finn in prison - Week #1

Finn's trainer reports that Finn is very smart and affectionate .

They are working on socializing him with other dogs . He does better right now one on one with another dog but they will be working on this .

Finn walks good on "Heel" and does "Sit" & "Sit-Stays" very well .
They are working on building his confidence .

He loves being under the bed and the best way to get him to come out is a little knock on the bed . LOL

Update on Finn in prison - Week #2

Finn's trainer reports that Finn is doing very good . They have been working on Verbal and Signal commands such as Sit, Down, Stay, Front, and Finish .
He is starting to be socialized with the other dogs .

Update on Finn in prison - Week #3

Finns trainer reports : Finn is up every morning before me & always in a good mood . When he isn't getting any attention he will go under the bed and stay out of the way until you call him .

When I feed him I make him sit and wait until I say "come on boy" , even when his food is sitting there he will wait till you tell him .

Doing very good in training & can shake with both paws . No problems doing his nails or cleaning his ears .

Update on Finn in prison - Week #4

Finn's trainer reports that Finn is great and has made progress in his training .

He is learning the "Finish" and "Stand" commands this week .

He is very smart and learns very fast but is a little timid so he is getting a lot of praise to over come this .

Doing good with bathing and having his nails done .
