Cooper was adopted by Sandra & Kelly. They have waited 3 long months for Cooper to finish his training in the RPSM Prison Program. When they arrived to meet Cooper and he heard their voices, he perked up like he had known them all his life. Him and Max-A- Million were giving each other kisses and we are sure they will be the best of buddies.

Thank you Sandra & Kelly for opening your hearts and home to our Super Dooper Cooper.

Hey Cathy & Diane,

It is we who thank you and Diane for the love, commitment, compassion and welcoming hearts and arms to unite us with Cooper. He is an absolute doll and sweetheart. He craves lots and lots of love and we have taken to calling him Curious George - he needs to know everything that is going on and where we are at all times.

Thank you for the posting of our picture and first day with Coops. I registered for the mirescue listed below; however, it would not allow me to reply nor add. Any direction?

Cooper is adjusting marvelously! He is making himself right at home - he follows us everywhere, sticks his head in every closet, cabinet and corner. There is no sign of fear or hesitation. He loves snuggling up in bed - he joined us at least three times last night! He seemed to thoroughly enjoy his first taste of homemade popcorn last night! Uncle Marc came over last night to meet him and he ran straight to the door with a toy in mouth to welcome Marc. He then snuggled up with Marc and showed off his toys. The only challenge seems to be the toys themselves. Although we have well over a dozen them laying around throughout the house, barely 4-5 feet apart. Maxi is not accustom to sharing - nor is Cooper. They each want the ONE the other one has. There have been a couple of intense tug of wars - Cooper won due to strength and size. Maxi continues to wag his tail during the tug of war challenge. The second time there was a little low growling with both of them which made me a little nervous. We have not left them alone yet, we plan to leave for about an hour tomorrow - we will likely pick up all of the toys just to give them space to focus on building their relationship without an element of distraction for competition. Maxi is pouting a little bit - so we are very conscientious about giving them both love and individualized as well as joint attention. We are sure time will unite them as buddies and Maxi will quickly become concerned as to where Cooper is whenever he leaves the room - we believe they just need some bonding time! Please feel free to send any suggestions or guidance. I will gladly call our vet on monday as well to get her input.

We took them to the tennis court to play ball this morning - Cooper won out on the chase and retrieve. They both came back tired and took a long nap - we're all pretty tired! This afternoon Maxi and I stayed home for some snuggle time while Cooper went for his first walk and second round of tennis ball chasing. Kelly said Cooper carried his new rubber kong ball the entire distance to the tennis court and on the way back he knew his way home and lead Kel straight to the driveway.

Health - Cooper's diarrhea has settled as of this morning; however, he has not gone poddy yet today. Do you know if they used a command to get him to go? It is actually hard to get him to go off the porch to even go tinkle. He does have some pretty potent poots!!!

Funny moment - we have a circular staircase leading downstairs - it was a little challenge for him in navigation the first time down, so he decided to stop in the middle and just sit down with his hind end on the upper step with his front paws on the lower and wait for Kelly to come back guide him down.

We have taken some pics - will send as soon as I figure out how to upload!

We stopped at the Coach outlet and got them each new pretty kelly green collars - they are VERY handsome! We also bought an industrial stake to put in the ground that is "guaranteed to hold dogs up to 200 lbs" as we want to keep him home and safe. However, he does not seem to have any interest in hanging out on the porch or in the yard - he has quickly learned that he gets a treat from the biscuit jar every time he comes in! We are well trained.

How are your other adoptions going? We saw a fellow pet lover at Petsmart today - she admired how pretty our boys are - she said they just had to give an adopted doggy back ask he was too aggressive with their current dog who is completely blind - so we suggested that they look on your website and contact you given your program is so wonderful we were certain you could bring them a good match for their current baby and home.

Winding down for the day - will send updates over the next few days. Thank you for bringing such a precious boy into our lives - he is an absolute gift!!!

With sincere gratitude,

Sandra, Kelly, Maxi and Cooper

After hearing Cooper's Story, I could not be happier that he has found a family to love and spoil him for life.

Thank you so much for opening your heart and home to him.

It was a fabulous day with Coops-he burrows his way into your heart VERY fast and quite easily.  He does not miss a beat - he is learning where everything is...from where we keep envelopes, laundry detergent, mops & brooms, shoes/clothes, towels, toiletries and of course treats!

He has taken to barking loudly whenever he hears someone at the door, Kelly, me, Uncle Marc or human sister Taylor - his deep bark could actually serve as a good watch dog alert.  However, we gently thank him and tell him it is OK.

All of the toys are put away for a few days - he is searching diligently for one - he is actually quite adorable with them as he is quite good at entertaining himself.

Right now he is sleeping on the area rug in the breakfast nook where our beagle/vizla Emmy used to sleep - precious!

Have a fabulous Monday!

Cooper at HOME...

RPSM - There are not words to express the extent our gratitude to you for the incredible gift of love that you have given our home through Cooper! We are honored to have found him through RPSM and to have been given the privilege to be chosen as his Forever Family. He is absolutely sweet, precious, silly & awkward at times and is adjusting beautifully. An inside home is a whole new world for him. He is Mr. Adventurer. He loves to go for walks - carrying his tennis ball (actually a kong balls as he ripped up the tennis ball for fun) all the way to the court for a round of running and fetching - he is an absolute Winner!

Cathy, Diane and all of the volunteers at RPSM are a blessing to God's furry creatures who had the initial misfortune of being taken into the wrong hands - initially. It is through your loving hearts and your wonderful organization that they are gifted with real compassion, love, care, tenderness, nurturing, peace, joy and happiness. You are God's "Angels in Skin".

Cathy Cooper thanks you from the tips of his furry paws to the top of his little indented head for pursuing him and going to great lengths to take him out of a very scary and abusive environment to a loving, safe, nurturing home where he is absolutely adored!

We also give special thanks to the Coldwater Prison Training Program and Jamie for taking Cooper and all of his furry friends in to be sheltered, loved and trained - showing them that it is possible to live in an environment that is safe, warm, loving and fun. He is very obedient and loves doing his tricks - especially high five and sit like a bird. We're especially grateful that the prison will allow us to send a letter and pictures of Cooper to Jamie to see the joy and peace in his eyes!

We've included a few shots of Cooper at Home and will continue to post updates as he settles in - which you can see he is doing very quickly!

May your day be filled with unconditional love & innocence - like that of a dog!

Great Job Cooper! You looked like royalty when you came out of the prison training program. We were luck enough to be there to see just how awesome you are. Thank You Sandra & Kelly, for giving Cooper his forever home.

Diane and Cathy,

Cooper is Super! Yesterday I took him and Maxi on a quick morning walk - minus a chase Cooper and the ball round at the tennis court. So, Cooper took to entertaining himself along the way. He dove for the usual stick collection to carry along the way and dropped it when we passed a drainage grate as it housed interesting smells. Having free jaws he decided to romp and play - while on the leashing - rolling in his favorite patch of grass in front of the tennis courts. As I reached down to untangle him - Maxi was of course watching the circus act from a safe distance - Cooper sprang up with excitement and joyfully pounced away as if he had a new toy - it was a whole luncheon meat sandwich someone had tossed from the car. Being the good boy he is, he dropped it as soon as I said "Cooper, No"! However, he then took it as a game when I put it high in the air where he could not reach it in order to take it to the marshy area and throw it away.

The adventure did not end there...as we came to the intersection of our street...there is a house for sale so the yard is unattended. Given it is trash day and the winds were swift, Cooper was on the look out for his next prize. He pounced on a pair of 2T little boys shorts that had blown out of a trash bin. He pranced all the way home with them in his mouth and head held high. He dropped them on the living room floor when I went to the freezer to hand out ice cubes as a treat. When he went back to retrieve them - from their safe place - he was immediately in question of their mysterious disappearance. Being quick to make the most out of every moment...he dove for his stuffed rainbow trout fish and proceeded to fling it in the air with great delight....

Never a dull moment with Mr. Cooper on board!

We still cannot get him to go poddy - he will tinkle - but he has had 3 poddy accidents in the house. We're adjusting his morning meal to a smaller portion in order to decrease the amount to be digested during the day when we're at work. Poddy time is a short excursion from play time with his toys, so he wants to make it a quick turnaround - even if it means running in the sliding glass door while the teather is still attached as he was sure to leave a baby by the door on his way out (which always takes some convincing to get him to leave it in the house).

He is an adventure and we love him dearly!

He's a cutie boy who LOVES his toys! He stands at the washer with a sad face when they get washed and anxiously awaits them to bounce out of the dryer and back into his mouth...

We coordinated a towel collection in our neighborhood for the local doggy shelters that were in need and Coops wanted to be in on the action-plus he likes soft things so he took claim to a towel!
