We picked up Sas in West Olive on wed. July,16. Her previous owners decided that after having her 11 years, they no longer had time for her. We all know this is because she is developing issues due to her age. She has a nasty limp which will be looked at this coming Saturday. She tolerates the others here, but corrects them if they are rough-housing. Sas loves to fetch a tennis ball or stick, she could care less which one, but with the limp we are trying to keep her calm. Today her and Wyatt decided they would drop over the bank to the county drain to have a swim and cool off. (We need to fence this soon) The water is only a foot or two deep usually, but last month it was up a good ten feet and swift, with all the field runoff. They ran up and down a few times they came back up the bank to Kathye all happy with themselves.

Here are some pics of the ole girl.

Poor girl. I hope her leg is just a little arthritis and nothing major. I can't understand how someone can love a dog for 11 years and then just give them away. I can't imagine it after just a couple years, let alone their whole life. I got my Smokey that way after my ex's mom had him for 9 years. I've had him almost 3 years now and can't imagine ever giving him away, or back to her.

At least she found you and will be able to have a family to love her for the rest of her life.

I second Kritters post. she was very fortunate to have you rescue her ! I am sure that if a loving home cant be found for her that she will stay right where she is.

Sas had her vet appointment last weekend for X-rays on her hips ect. The vet still cannot believe she is 11 years old as her hips looked great for her age. Sas does have some soft tissue issues which causes her pain in her right front shoulder. The vet told us to keep her inactive for a few weeks, Yea Right! This "ole girl will not be kept down. She continually has to go running and jumping around while keeping Everyone in line. She is such a "Sas"sy girl and tells you about it if you take the others for a walk and leave her at home. When you get back she insists on "bitching" you out.
