Animal welfare officials say a Mio woman with dozens of horses, dogs, cats and other animals has committed serious animal neglect.

They say the dogs had open sores, matted hair, and were covered with urine and feces. 53-year-old Rainell Kruger had 89 animals and still has 24 of them.
She's facing four counts of animal cruelty involving her two horses.

Some of the dogs, cats and assorted farm animals were removed from Kruger's property on January 30th. She's due back in court on February 25th, and officials say more charges could be coming.
