Two years ago today we were leaving to head down to the Shiawassee Humane Society to bring Belle,
home. Belle had been infested with various parasites, heartworm included. When found she weighed 30 lbs
and been abandoned, that was in the previous January. When we finally got her, March 13th she had been treated for the parasites and heartworm and had gained back 17 badly needed pounds.
Now she lives as she should, a lady retired on full benefits. Enjoying her golden years. Has her "Senior" food,
"Senior" vitamins and her Glycoflex lll. She always gets something from the table every time we eat. Always
gets her twice a day walks and has her private collection of toys that she uses every day. As far as Shannon
and Annie are concerned Belle the "Granny Setter" is mother, and anything that mother does is fine with them. When "mother" wants to play they are available to play, if "mother" wants to lay on the couch they will
give it to her.
Belle is my constant companion, goes when I go, loves fishing, but hates hunting (the only activity I cant include her in, very gun shy) and loves everyone she meets. Belle has an active happy retirement, returns
the love given more than 100 fold and her loyalty couldnt be questioned.
We hope and pray for many more years for her, with her. All that I can say is her muzzle may be white but
there is alot of life left there.
Our Thanks to Sherri and Amanda at Shiawassee Humane Society for our "Granny Setter"
The pic taken yesterday is Granny giving Shannon a face wash.
