Some times things happen for a reason, I truly believe that the good lord had a hand in this story.

Leibe was brought to our vets to be put to sleep because of a divorce. He was on the table, sedated and the needle with the deadly liquid was ready to be inserted, at the same moment Maddie was dropping a cat off to be spayed and the reception told Maddie Leibe sad situation. Because the office techs were impressed with Leibe's well behaved attitude and all around good nature, Maddie made the decision that if the owners would agree to release him to rescue, we would attempt to find a new home for this good natured 8 year old Rottie boy. A phone call was made to Leibe's former owners and they agreed to release Leibe to rescue and Maddie would return to pick him up to bring into rescue on Monday, since she was doing an agility trial over the weekend and that way she would have time to evaluate this big boy.

Courtney Parker the very same vet tech that was assisting with the putting Leibe to sleep, decided she would take him home for the weekend so he would not have to stay at the vet office for the weekend.
Well, Leibe worked his charm on that weekend, and won Courtney heart! hug.gif
He was such a wonderful companion , well trained and followed Courtney every where.

We are very happy to announce Courtney officially adopted Leibe. He will be able to accompany Courtney when she goes to work and play with the other staff animals.

Thank you so very much Courtney for opening your heart and home to Leibe. We look forward to updates and pictures. Leibe is one Lucky boy with an Angel on his shoulder and I believe will bring you much luck and love.

Talk about miracles!!!! I think you are right Sherri that God had a hand in this rescue. The one thing I have learned from being in rescue, is that "things happen cause they're supposed to". I also believe that God steps in and places animals in a particular situation, place, or time so they are able to be saved from hell.

I was at the vets today.. and Leibe was there with Courtney and decided to pose for a few pictures..

Hey, i was staring and wondering why Courtney looked so familiar. I clicked on the post because i love the name Liebe (no pun intended.)

I kept staring, then it finally dawned on me. "Wait a minute! I know this story!" We met her and Liebe in PetsMart a few months ago!!! We chatted for what must have been at least 20 minutes.

Good to hear that they are both still doing well! biggrin.gif

This is the first time I have read Leibe's story. What an incredible miracle.

I work with Courtney and I can tell you they are both doing great. Leibe came to work yesterday. He is continually dropping all the extra pounds he came with, slowly but surely. He looks so much more handsome now and is so much healthier too. The way he follows Courtney everywhere you know he's happy and grateful.
Sherri
Leibe was at work with Courtney and we were able to snap a picture to show how happy he is

Yay pictures! I love seeing that big cutie.

We stopped by a couple weeks ago and there was a Rottie there, but it wasn't him :- ( I love just about any dog, but it just wasn't him.

I guess prayers do work. *chuckle* I still got to see him... even if it is just in pictures.

If you stopped by the clinic and there was a rottie there it was probably "Kita." She is also a rescue. Her owners abandoned her at 5 months of age with parvo and never called back or came to get her. She survived parvo and we got so attached to her. Allegra ended up adopting her, or else I would have taken her myself. Her and my Dobie are best buddies!

Yeah, i think that sounds like the story they told me. (except they gave the short version.) REALLY small for a rottie? (At least i thought the one there was.)

I'm glad you at least still get to see Kita. That is so sweat that her and your Dobe are best freinds biggrin.gif
Sherri
Stop by the office to do an adoption and Leibe and Courntey were Kind enough to share a picture.

The expression on Liebe's face (in the first photo) shows he is as happy and proud of Courtney as she is of him. perfect match!!! He's showing off his mom while she is showing off her boy.
Sherri
We are sure that Leibe is smiling down at his Mom because she chose to adopt a boxer mix from Michigan Boxer Rescue!!!

We will hope she share's pictures soon.
