Sunny, or Princess Sunshine of the Dog Pound (her pedigree name) was smelly, skinny, dirty and missing lots of hair, and had open cuts. But when I saw her in her cage and she rolled over in my lap and looked up at me with those chocolate eyes, I knew I was the one about to be saved.
