I didn't want to put this on earlier, when everyone was struggling with the loss of Roscoe, but we had a sad new year as well when we lost Strawberry. She was a sweet girl, liked by everyone who met her. We miss her. (Okay, maybe Lilly doesn't miss her devil.gif but the rest of us are a little lost.)

oh Heather, I am so sorry. When did you loose her..

Oh Heather, I am soooo sorry to hear this! crying.gif What a sweetheart she was, but most of all, she was well loved by you, Madison, Brown and Lilly (I bet, deep down inside, Lilly had a soft spot for the old gal wink.gif )

You all are in our thoughts.

I had her put to sleep Saturday at about 10:30. She had broken her leg into 5 pieces. I took her to a local vet who recommended an orth. specialist. Then my vet called me back and I took her there. He looked at the x-rays and thought that it would be more humane to let her go. He was concerned that as he tried to pin the breaks the old and arthritec bones would crumble. Also, there were small chips in the joints. He did not think we could give her a life without pain. I hope the decision I made is right. The doubt and guilt are killing me.

pleases don't doubt your decision. You did what you always did for Strawberry and all the others put them first. They trust and love you to make the right decision and you have..

Dogs do not have to live in pain. Strawberry had what we wish for every dog and that is a family that loved and cherished her.

It's a very hard decision to make, Heather, and I'm so sorry it was one you had to endure. I don't look forward to that day, and hope to God that my babies pass quietly in their sleep when the time comes. But one never knows...anything can happen.

Strawberry lived a very full and much loved life. Thank you for giving that to her. hug.gif

Oh my God Heather, what a horrible way for all of us to start this year. Oh, NO! I'm sooo sorry. My poor old heart can't take another year like last year. My prayers to you. Is Madison allright? I'm soooo sorry! Arda

Heather,
we are so sorry to read of Strawberry's passing. Please try not to second guess your actions. You are a kind, big-hearted, compassionate person. You did what was in her best interest. Try to take some comfort in the fact that she passed with dignity surrounded in love. She wants you to Celebrate the quality of her life & time with you.

Message To My Master(s)
-----------------------

The day you laid me down to sleep
you prayed to the Lord; my soul to keep
I know you had to send me on my way
but you sent me to a new; better; and much brighter day

You sent me home; to heaven above
where I'm cradled in God's arms; covered with His love
I understand what you did; you did out of love
and I'll return that love; from my new home above

My sickness is gone; and I'm free here to roam
I run and play in the meadows; here in my new home
We play here by the Bridge; from morning to night
there is no rain here; just warm sunlight

I know you all miss me; I miss you all too
but I'll always be with you; whatever you do
Please wipe the tears; from your weeping eyes
by remembering the good times; from days gone by

When you look out; into the dark of night
I'll be that bright star; your guiding light
We'll meet again at the Bridge one day
when we'll walk in the light; together to stay
