Full Version: Grandma Got Run Over By A ..........
MIRescue Rescued Animals Adopter's Message Board > Adopters of Rescued Animals > Heart Warming Stories
Arda
A full day of running from one vets to another with a stop or two inbetween to see if I was missing much. Home to do the chores. And to bed a little early as Grandmas don't hold up like they used to. I snuggled in that bed like a kid. As the night moved on I became aware that the kids were snuggling up close to the bed. In other words bumping and crowding became apparent. By morning those little white monsters were screaming to get out and I gladly accomodated them. Then I started pushing the rest of them out the doors. Beautiful snow cover everywhere. "Beautiful?" not in a dog's mind. "Torture". And I continued to push them out. Gave them a moment to concider the consequence of their decission and opened the door. What a mistake! They considered the consequence and decided that it was better to be beaten to death by Grandma for going on the floor than to stay out there and let the snow monster devour them. As 12 Dobes and a Beagle came through that door with the force of Superman I was shoved down the hall and onto the floor and trampled by 52 tiny feet. My message to the world today......Take great care when opening the door today. You may get trampled by a herd of Reindobes. Arda M Barber out in the swamp

Arda:
You are a rescuer, and it is well known in the K9 community that rescuers are a soft touch. They know us, they have our number and know exactly what they can get away with. They also know that the most unpleasant thing they might expect is a few harsh words. Upon hearing those words they know all about the tail droop
and sad eye gambit. I know that my 3 do.
Have a Merry Christmas.

Arda,
Are we going to have to write a new song... "Grandma Arda got run over
by a reindobe" running to get away from the Snow Monsssster!
Take it easy lady, you dont bounce up off the floor the way you used too!
( None of us do)
The snow is beautiful if you dont have to go out & drive in it.... if you do
go slow....
Merry Christmas to you & the Doberkids....

As 12 Dobes and a Beagle came through that door with the force of Superman I was shoved down the hall and onto the floor and trampled by 52 tiny feet.

Levi had the same thoughts this morning. “Gee! Do I have to go out there?” sad.gif he seemed to be saying with that look he gave back at me as his first step touched the snow. He didn’t waste any time getting the job at hand done and setting at the door wall as perfect as possible innocent.gif because he knows the door will open sooner then being a wild-dog devil.gif . Later this morning my wife let him out and instead of going out in the yard in his normal spot he decided it is easier on the feet to use the deck. It must be warmer to stand on with those bare pads for feet. At least he made it outside!

Arda, thanks for sharing your experience. I really enjoyed reading it, and I hope the 52 foot prints marks on you don’t last too long! ohmy.gif

Take care,
