Phillip Better know as Red was adopted by Sadiq Blevins last year. A recent and sudden tradgey Sadiq has passed away, and the people Sadiq was living with took Red to the local Animal Control even before the week was out, not caring that SCD held co-ownership and a contract on Red that requires him to be returned to us, or that many owner turn in at Animal Controls sometimes are killed the same day they arrive because of lack of space at Animal Controls.

But Red had an Angel on his shoulder, Jennifer Butler even in her grief, she care enough to contact us and we set our minds to finding Red and making sure he was safe. The day Red was taken to Monroe Animal Shelter, A rescue was there getting dogs and took Red to safety, Thank you Mutts and Mutts Rescue League.

Thanks goes to our volunteers and little Arda's Momma Laurie and Seth's Dad and Mom Kevin and Kathye for driving the distance to get Red home to SCD.

But the love story does not end here, Jennifer Butler is adopting Red today, and he will spend the rest of his life with a loving owner that saved him.

We look forward to updates as Red becomes Jennifer newest family member. He will be able to grow up with Sadiq's child, and we are sure he will give them both

Here are a few pictures of Red. He was a little thin when I first got him, but we have been putting some meat on his bones. I forgot what a happy and playful dog he is. We just have so much fun with him. My daughter and him get along so well. Thank you so much for all your help. It really made a difference in our lives, especially when we needed it most. Thank you

It's so nice to see the love. It was a difficult story to read because of the pain, but the joy in the ending is just wonderful! What a picture of a rescue and a happy ending.

Sadiq is my brother, and I am so glad that Red was able to make it home with a loving family in the end!

Bryan, I am so very sad for the loss of your brother. I believe that Sadiq would have wanted Red's safety secure.
I know Red's story is what prompted Second Chance Dobes to Micro Chip all the dogs that go through their rescue.
