Haillee went to live with the Tracey Obrien family in Auburn Hills. What a wonderful girl she is. We are sure she will show them plenty of love and loyalty over the years.
Please send us updates.

I enjoyed looking at all the pictures because it was like watching her grow up from a baby! So happy she had the opportunity to enjoy good old yooper snow!

Got some bad news today from the Vet
Makita would limp off and on so Tracey took her to
the vet and the vet said it is most likely a pulled muscle
from running around. We were told to let her rest and watch her
for a few days.
Well Tracey did not see any improvement so she took Makita back
to the Vet today and had x-rays taken.
Makita has a hip displacement. She is not even a year old

I'm so sorry to hear that.

I know how hard it is to have a pet with serious problems. I will pray that Makita will not be in pain. Really sorry ....

So sorry to hear about Makita's hip problems. She is such a sweetheart. We miss her and wish her well. We are kinda going through a simlar problem with our Seth. He strains his shoulder every time he runs hard and the vet says his hips will problably be the next thing we'll have to worry about. He's not yet two and his weight compounds the stress on his joints (122 pounds). Please give her a big hug from us and our thoughts and prays are with you all.

With that kind of devotion Makita will overcome this disability, and if not overcome be able to adapt to it.

I am so sorry to hear that Makita was diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia, Shepherds are one of my favorite breed, and because they are breeding them with such slopes the Hip Dysplasia is wide spread..
I linked a few sites that you might find helpful.. The suppliments are very helpful with exercises and weight control, But if needed in the future that surgry is needed please contact us and we will try and help you raise funds

This is my Cocoa, she has bilateral hip dysplasia. She was diagnosed when she was 6, 1 yr ago, and only diagnosed because she injured her back foot and xrays revealed the chd. My vet was amazed that she was even able to walk as he said that her chd was the worse he had ever seen. He quoted me a price of $1800.00 to due the femoral head ostectomy on both hips. We were saving for this when our Adonis became ill and had to use the money to pay part of his bill.
Actually she does fine. She is on Glycoflex III and Duralactin, which is an all-natural form of remidyl. She has problems getting up from a laying down position, but so do I. Otherwise, she does do the bunnyhop run with her rear legs, but she keeps up with Brady, and she never seems to be in pain. We are in the process of saving again to have the surgery done, but she certainly is not suffering from this at present with the supplements we have her on. mary

I had a former foster Boo, that need the surgry one of the best places to get it done is in Ohio, they preformed the surgry and also gave us a rescue discount.
Both hips were done for the $900 discounted from 1,200 we raised $900 by having a weekend of rummage sales for Boo, this was a couple years back but the surgry worked well for Boo..
And putting up donation cans.. With Boo picture and story
