"Freddie the Freeloader" was named by the neighborhood people as they were trying to capture him. Freddie's "owners" left him behind when they moved out last winter. For months, people tried to catch him. He would eat for them - nickname - but did not trust anyone. I was contacted by a very nice lady who couldn't find anyone to help her. She knew he also needed medical attention as his face appeared swollen. For 2 weeks we were organizing a team of rescuers - we were told this was not going to be easy as Freddie always ran back to the woods where he had been living for several months. Finally a nice man and his beagle were able to rescue him. A new loving home has been found for him but his medical expenses are going to be extensive. He was nuetered and had all his shots yesterday, but his jaw is deformed, he has infected teeth that need to be removed and he also needs extensive surgery on his ears - he is partially deaf. After being on antibiotics for 2 weeks, he will go to Michigan State Univ Veterinary School to have surgery - estimated cost is $1500. I am seeking donations to help him so he can lead a normal happy life. He has been through so much! Checks can be made out to MSU but they are not taxdedutible. Please send to:
